FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Winning $100,000 and $50,000 Powerball Tickets Sold for Monday Drawing
Fort BP in Portage and Casey's Store in Racine sell big winners

BP Manager

Madison, Wis. -- There has been no shortage of power in Wisconsin during the current Powerball jackpot run. Two big Wisconsin Powerball winners were produced from the Monday, April 1 drawing. A winning $100,000 Powerball ticket was sold at Fort BP on 1901 E. Hwy 33 in Portage and a winning $50,000 ticket was purchased from Casey's General Store on 1306 4 Mile Rd. in Racine. Both tickets matched four of five numbers (19-24-40-42-56) and the Powerball (23).

Because the winning $100,000 ticket included the $1 Power Play, the prize increased from $50,000 to $100,000 due to the 2X multiplier being drawn.

Wisconsinites may be wondering if the "P" in Powerball also stands for Portage.

In addition to the $100,000 winning ticket sold at Fort BP, two winning $50,000 Powerball tickets were sold in Portage at different Kwik Trip locations during the last two months.

"We are so excited to see all of these wins in Portage," said Fort BP Manager, Megan Mussehl.

Including yesterday's Powerball wins, 16 winning tickets of $50,000 or more have been purchased in Wisconsin in 2024.

The Powerball jackpot is now estimated at $1.09 billion for the next drawing on Wednesday night. The jackpot has an estimated cash value of $527.3 million. The prize ranks as the fourth-largest Powerball jackpot and ninth-largest U.S. lottery jackpot, placing it one ranking below the $1.128 billion Mega Millions jackpot that was won in New Jersey last Tuesday.

The Powerball jackpot was last won on Jan. 1, 2024, by a ticket in Michigan that won a prize worth $842.4 million. Since then, there have been 39 drawings in a row without a jackpot winner. Wednesday’s drawing will be the 40th drawing in the jackpot run.

Players have 180 days from the draw date to claim their winnings. Information on how to claim a prize is available at wilottery.com/winners/claim-prize. Players can also check their tickets using the Wisconsin Lottery mobile app, available on the App Store or Google Play.

Wisconsin Lottery retailers who sell winning tickets over $599 receive a two percent Retailer Performance Winning Ticket Incentive, up to $100,000.

Powerball drawings are Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 9:59 p.m. Tickets must be purchased before 9 p.m. to be included in a drawing. Powerball tickets are $2 per play, with the option to buy the Power Play feature for $1.

The odds of winning a $50,000 Powerball prize are 1:913,130. For the $1 Power Play add-on option, the odds of a 2X multiplier being drawn on Monday night were 1:1.75. Power Play does not apply to the jackpot.

The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are 1:292,201,338.
