Powerball Jackpot Just
Raised to $300 Million

(Madison)— The estimated jackpot for Saturday, October 15 Powerball drawing is being raised from $290 million to $300 million ($146.0 million cash option), because of strong sales in the 29 participating Powerball states.

“Strong sales have made this jackpot the second highest ever,” said Mike Edmonds, Director of the Wisconsin Lottery.  The highest Powerball jackpot of $314 million was hit on Christmas Day 2002.

With the jackpot climbing so high and many people playing for the first time, the Wisconsin Lottery would like to remind players to play responsibly.

As of this past Wednesday’s draw, Wisconsin had sold $19.7 million worth of Powerball tickets since the current jackpot run began on August 13.  That translates into $7 million of property tax relief for Wisconsin property owners.
