Powerball Sign to Lose Power

MADISON— After 11 years of shining and 660 million viewings, the power to the Wisconsin Lottery’s Powerball sign located in the middle of the Marquette Interchange will be cut this weekend.  The Aldrich Chemical building, which is the structure supporting the sign, will soon be demolished for the continued progress of the interchange reconstruction project.

“The Powerball sign, which has almost become a landmark on the Marquette Interchange skyline has served the lottery and our players very well,” said Michael Edmonds, Director of the Wisconsin Lottery.  “We will explore other possible locations for the sign, but we will wait until the dust settles before we make any final decisions.”

Players, who rely on the sign for jackpot updates, can refer to the Wisconsin Lottery’s web site www.wilottery.com, call the Player Hotline (1-608-266-7777), receive an e-mail through the Player’s Club, look in the newspaper, or simply ask their local lottery retailer for the day’s jackpot level.
