FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Mega Millions and Powerball Jackpots Surge to a Combined $1.31 Billion
Mega Millions top prize ascends to 8th largest jackpot in the game's history

MADISON, Wis. -- Think BIG. Ginormous. Perhaps, record-breaking. The estimated Mega Millions and Powerball jackpots have leaped to combined $1.31 billion for the Friday, November 7 (Mega Millions, $843 million) and Saturday, November 8 (Powerball, $467 million) drawings.

The Mega Millions jackpot is the 8th largest in the game's history. Friday’s Mega Millions drawing will be the 38th drawing since the jackpot was last won in Virginia on June 27.

In April, Mega Millions implemented several exciting game enhancements designed to improve the player experience. One of the biggest changes to the game is the built-in Multiplier, which can improve non-jackpot wins by 2X, 3X, 4X, 5X, or 10X. In the first month of the new game, Mega Millions players experienced a 300% increase in non-jackpot prizes.

Wisconsin has had 19 Powerball jackpot winners since the game debuted in 1992. The 19 wins tie Wisconsin with Kentucky as the fifth most frequently winning Powerball jackpot states.

The Badger State has had a plethora of big Powerball wins in just over two months. In September, October, and the first week of November combined, Wisconsin retailers have sold 22 winning Powerball tickets of $50,000 or more.

Lottery players who want to try playing both Powerball and Mega Millions may be interested in Wisconsin's Lucky 13. For $13, players receive a Quick Pick ticket for eight different Lotto games including Mega Millions, Powerball, and Megabucks, a Wisconsin-only game that currently has an estimated jackpot of $6.5 million.

Mega Millions tickets are $5 per play. Drawings are Tuesday and Friday at 10 p.m. Tickets must be purchased before 9 p.m. on Tuesday and Friday to be included in that day’s drawing.

Powerball tickets are $2 per play, with the option to buy the Power Play feature for an additional $1. Drawings are on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 9:59 p.m. Tickets must be purchased before 9:00 p.m. to be included in that day's drawing.

Megabucks tickets are $1 for two plays. Drawings are on Wednesday and Saturday at 10 p.m. Tickets must be purchased before 9 p.m. to be included in that day's drawing.

The odds of winning the Mega Millions jackpot are 1:290,472,336 The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are 1:292,201,338 while the odds of winning the Megabucks jackpot are 1:6,991,908.
