MADISON, Wis. -- It was a wonderful Wednesday in Wisconsin for a few players who bought Badger 5 and Powerball tickets for the July 9, 2025, drawing.
A $146,000 Badger 5 jackpot was split between winning tickets purchased at BP on 1009 W. Main St in Stoughton and Kwik Trip on 305 W. Prairie St. in Boscobel. The winning numbers were 5-9-12-16-17.
BP Manager, Jennifer Garcia was excited to learn the news. "It's amazing," she said. "It great to sell a big winning ticket. Lots of our regulars play Badger 5."
So far this year, 12 winning Badger 5 jackpots have exceeded $100,000.
Meanwhile, a few miles to the north, a winning $50,000 Powerball ticket was sold at Kwik Trip on 2800 Abbey Rd. in Onalaska. The ticket matched four of five numbers (5-9-25-28-69) plus the Powerball (5).
Last night's Powerball draw resulted in seven $50,000 Powerball winners across the United States. In Wisconsin, there were 4,934 total Powerball winners ranging from $4 to $50,000. Powerball features nine different prize levels.
The estimated Powerball jackpot for the Saturday drawing is $234 million.
Wisconsin Lottery retailers who sell winning tickets over $599 receive a two percent Retailer Performance Winning Ticket Incentive, up to $100,000.
Players have 180 days from the draw date to claim their winnings. Information on how to claim a prize is available at wilottery.com. Players can also check to see if their ticket is a winner by using the Lottery's mobile app, available on the App Store or Google Play.
The Badger 5 Lotto game is drawn daily after 9 p.m. The odds of winning the Badger 5 jackpot are 1:169,911. Tickets must be purchased before 9 p.m. to be included in that day's drawing.
Powerball drawings are Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 9:59 p.m. Tickets must be purchased before 9:00 p.m. to be included in a drawing. Powerball tickets are $2 per play, with the option to buy the Power Play feature for an additional $1.
The odds of winning a $50,000 Powerball prize are 1:913,130 while the odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are 1:292,201,338.
