FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Winning $100,000 Powerball Ticket Sold in Appleton
Wednesday's win comes on the heels of historic jackpot run

$50K in Appleton
18 Powerball winning locations

MADISON, Wis. -- Powerball players in Wisconsin are still winning big following the record-breaking jackpot that was hit this past weekend. A winning $100,000 Powerball ticket was sold at Kwik Trip on 4085 E. Calumet St. in Appleton for the Wednesday, September 10 drawing.

The Appleton win continues a good run of Powerball winners in the Badger State. In last five Powerball drawings, Wisconsin had a total of 18 winning tickets that won more than $50,000.

Powerball's historic jackpot run, which ended on Saturday with a $1.787 billion jackpot being split between winning tickets sold in Texas and Missouri, was the second-largest U.S. lottery jackpot ever won.

The winning ticket from the Wednesday night drawing matched four of five numbers (2-24-45-53-64) and the Powerball (5). The ticket also included the $1 Power Play option, which turned a $50,000 win into a $100,000 prize because of the 2X multiplier.

The Appleton Kwik Trip has a long history of selling big Lottery winners. In recent years, the Lottery retailer has sold winning Lotto tickets of $132,000 and $50,000 and winning scratch tickets of $100,000 and $30,000.

Players have 180 days from the draw date to claim their winnings. Information on how to claim a prize is available at wilottery.com. Players can also see if their ticket is a winner by using the Lottery's mobile app, available at the App Store or Google Play.

Powerball drawings are Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 9:59 p.m. Tickets must be purchased before 9:00 p.m. to be included in a drawing. Powerball tickets are $2 per play, with the option to buy the Power Play feature for an additional $1.

The odds to win the Powerball jackpot are 1:292,201,338. The odds of winning a $50,000 Powerball prize are 1:913,130. With the $1 Power Play add-on option, the odds of a 2X multiplier being drawn on Wednesday night were 1:1.8.
