MADISON, Wis. -- Today, the Wisconsin Lottery launched a new educational video titled “How Scratch Odds Work,” designed to provide players with a clear, straightforward look at the math and mechanics behind scratch ticket odds.
Using the Wisconsin Lottery Crossword game as its primary example, the How Scratch Odds Work video takes a simple, transparent approach to explaining exactly how the odds of a scratch ticket are determined. Additionally, the video clarifies two critical components of Lottery security: how Lottery tickets are randomly distributed across the entire state of Wisconsin, and how every scratch game is thoroughly certified by independent third party auditors before tickets are ever distributed to retailers.
In addition to providing players with useful information, the video is another element of the Lottery's ongoing commitment to responsible gaming.
“We want our players to be informed and have fun while playing responsibly,” said Wisconsin Lottery Director Cindy Polzin. “Transparency is a top priority for us, and this video is a great resource for anyone who has ever wondered about scratch game odds.”
The “How Odds Work” video is available to watch on the Wisconsin Lottery YouTube channel and will be placed in a variety of media locations including social media platforms and wilottery.com.
